This graphic was created in the same way as the color dealer hand. I began with a drawing about a woman sitting in front of a tv for a story about high-definition television. I wanted to get the idea across that this was powerful tv, maybe overpowering tv. It's overpowering tv because of all the problems with implimenting the technology in our region. The story said some stations will have to spend millions in new equipment. With our small economy, it will take tv stations long time to break-even after they upgrade. People also have to get the converter or buy a new tv to take advantage of the new signal.

It's still cool technology, just pricey. I hoped to get both ideas across with this illustration.
