de Nesta

De Nesta is a member of the holy race, Talwar. These winged humanoids are the defenders of the cliffs near the northern edge of the Serpent's Spine mountains.
There are many stories of the winged men and women of the Talwar descending from the sky, raining defeat upon the evil denizens of Garidin.
While a member of this noble and powerful race, de Nesta shares little with her brothers and sisters of the sky. She has no honor and double-crosses almost everyone. She respects only strength and cunning and is determined to force her former family and clan to bow to her as their leader.
It is unheard of in Talwar history for one of their own to turn so sour. They've know about her evil tendencies for a while, but continued to open their homes and hearts to her, hoping love would change this black-hearted child. She used this "weakness" to learn the battle arts of the Talwar and trained hard, becoming an excellent warrior.
But one day, her tendencies fully bloomed. She was practicing with her teacher and decided that she was as good as she was going to be and swiftly killed her teacher.
She began to fly, hoping to leave behind these people who she disdained. But the act of killing another Talwar was too much even for these good-natured people. De Nesta saw her people as their enemies see them -- winged weapons, unforgiving and lethal.
They captured her easily and dragged her to the council of elders. They gave swift punishment. She was to be cast out of the clan and out of the race. She would no longer be looked on as a Talwar. The elders also declared that she should never fly among the people. With the declaration, a brother Talwar took de Nesta's own sword and sliced off her wings. The bloody appendages were burned before her eyes and she was thrown off the cliff.
She woke to the noise of vultures crying over head. Flying, as she once had, waiting for her to die. She smiled. Only now, nearly dead, wingless and starving did she have respect for her former brothers and sisters. They could be ruthless and powerful. No wonder their enemies feared them. She smiled again, now she was an enemy.
She maybe a deformed Talwar, but she looked like a typical human. She would not give up and began to heal herself and rebuild her life. In exchange for a particularly difficult assassination, a wizard caused her wings to grow back. And now she feels ready to take her revenge on her former people.
She has the ability of a 8th level thief and 12 level fighter. She can conceal her wings beneath her clothing and wears a ring of change self to hide the appendages further. She carried a +5 sword of quickness, always attacks first and gets 3 attacks per round. She has a ring of AC 2, a scarab of death in a small gold box. She also wears a girdle of stone giant strength, 20, +3, +8.
